FK3 - Single-wound laminar sealing rings

FK3 applications

FK3 laminar rings are single-wound steel sealing rings. They are used as a grease seal for roller bearings and bearing bushes, for example. When greased, they protect against dust and moisture. The sealing effect of the combined "FK3 ASK" and "FK3 ISK" sets (additional seal through additional rings which seal against the groove diameter) is optimised by the enhanced labyrinth effect.

The externally tensioned sets "FK3 AS" and "FK3 ASK" are usually preferred over the internally tensioned sets "FK3 IS" and "FK3 ISK". The reason is that they are easier to install and allow higher admissible speeds. Depending on the application and technical requirements, the ring holders can be made in steel, cast iron or plastic.
